Mariages Frères is recognized worldwide for its excellence, its exceptional teas and its image of French luxury. The teas offered by the brand are among the most qualitative in the world, and connoisseurs are crazy about them. Its tea walls, where some 650 selected teas are offered, is an emblem recognized throughout the world. The house has been named the best address in the world for the quality of Darjeeling and the most prestigious tea house in the world by the magazine Rxpress. Capital also named it as the best delicatessen chain.

Spices and herbs

From the beginning of the company in 1854, the Mariages Frère family started to import spices, teas and vanilla. Louis XIV loves them and mandates Nicolas Mariage to bring back other spices from India and Persia. Since that day, the house has kept this position, France is also very proud of it. It is also the official tea supplier of the Elysée Palace. Kitti Cha Sangmanee then bought the house and transformed it into a luxury house for the public by focusing on a reserved but accessible distribution to a wider target. Their historic store was opened in the Marais, then the products were offered for sale in department stores (Galeries Lafayette, Printemps...) and finally abroad. Indeed, Mariages Frères teas are particularly appreciated by Asians (especially Japanese, Koreans and Taiwanese) who come to find singular and unique notes, contrary to the usual tastes they can experience.

The company became known for its scented teas such as Marco Paulo and Imperial Earl Grey. It also sells natural teas such as Darjeeling from 30 different gardens, some of which are sold exclusively by the company.

Tea fields

In order to ensure the exceptional quality of these teas, the company works directly in the tea fields, to be as close as possible to the land and guarantee the extreme quality of the finished products. Quality control is extremely important for the company, as its brand image is essentially based on the rarity and quality of its products.

To follow these luxury teas, the packaging is in this continuity with black and yellow wooden boxes recalling the colonial spirit in which the house was founded. The house tries to innovate by proposing different colored packagings for exclusivities or particular seasons.

Also, the house wishes to keep this secret and reserved for the elite, because of their prices of course which are addressed to social classes with a high purchasing power. Also, for this category of consumers, other services are proposed to keep this elite. The "Tea Club" offers tastings in order to learn about great teas. This event includes a conference, a guided tasting, accompaniments and a discount on the teas offered during the tasting. There are several types of sessions, the first one for beginners who wish to learn, one to deepen and the last one to become an expert. Each of these sessions can be adapted and personalized, in keeping with the exclusive image of the house.
